My friend tells me that an Uber to the city is $40us. The light rail is not too far away to forbid extending it.

This is by far the best way to travel Mexico from San Diego, where I live. I remember how hard it was to accomplish (a decade of political arguments and trying to bring powerful people together–even 2 Nations–one who is now saying they are going to bomb the other) and I am very, very grateful. As for the minor complaints above, I think some just like to complain. Have you ever gone to an airport where the parking rates were fair?
The cool thing about the CBX is your own legs become your international segment of the trip. You walk from the U.S. to Mexico for a Domestic Mexican flight and it only takes you 5 or 10 minutes. That means now you ONLY pay for a Domestic fare–cheap. And it means when you land you skip the immigration line–you already immigrated when you walked over the CBX walkway. It’s awesome. It’s fast and easy. And it saves you a bunch of money and time.
Thanks to everyone who got this done.
It was hard! I remember.

I have used the bridge for years.
Unfortunately, the price for the 5 minute walk has almost tripled in the past 10 years. Long term
Parking on the U.S. side is at an all time high making it no longer a viable choice to leave a car there for short trips to Mexico.

You should have seen the face on the US Security guy when he asked, gruffly, “Where are you going?” And I said, “Walmart. I’ll be back in an hour” 🙂

I do have a few complaints though: the signage upon arrival to go south is extremely poor and the actual entrance to the bridge is difficult to find. Also as a senior citizen with ambulatory difficulties their supposed aid offer (wheelchair or motorized cart assistance) is difficult to obtain, they should have a well marked kiosk dedicated to said assistance 😉 Overall the service is 💯 % better than going through the San Isidro mess…. Congratulations CBX!
