I first went in 1989, no one there ,not even a Ticket office. In 1997, I stayed at Villas Archelogica, for 4 months. Since that time I have visited Uxmal, many times, and it never fails to impress me.
The Nuns Quadrangle and the Governors’ Palace are truly works of art.

Why I went there in 1975 I don’t remember, but in my many travels since, I have not been to a more resonant place. Uxmal is heavy.

If you are in Yucatan, Uxmal is a must see. As fascinating as Chichen Itza with far fewer people. There is also a beautiful hotel there.

My fiancée and I got engaged on the terrace of the House of the Governor, with a gorgeous view of the Pyramid of the Magician. Couldn’t have been more perfect.
