But there is much more to this tale. Knorozov was a KGB agent…a code breaker. People like him (code breakers) are/have been interested in Maya glyphs. He had help. WAY to much to talk about here but Knorozov did spend time on the Maya glyph topic and did open up ideas as to what the Maya glyphs meant. He was recognized by the Palenque Round Table members a while back. You may add Dr. David Stuart to the one that has really opened up the understanding of Maya glyphs. Recently the Mexico City RUSSIAN Embassy has been promoting Knorozov…they made a big deal of Knorozov here in Mexico.
