I am from the United States, but my husband is Tapatio. We both felt that the times are changing very rapidly towards equality in this area. My husband has many siblings, 4 sisters, 9 brothers. He tells me that his father always insisted that the women are not here to serve us (the men).

However I could argue the other side of almost everyone of these. I got #1 wrong because the ideals of the revolution were / are egalitarian and Morena reflects this, even if the class and race hierarchies are powerful and obvious. And who can not recognize the incredible power of women and matriarchy in Mexican culture, from the Virgen on Tepayac (home of Aztec fertility goddess) to the power of mothers (and chanclas) in the family, and the deservedly popular Presidenta de la República! Finally, on the issue of risk taking…, there are millions of Mexican migrant heroes in the U.S. today, who risked everything to migrate for their families!!! So while this was fun and informative, I sure can see that it is subjective.

Makes me sad to think the point of the study will be to spread more consumerism. The study shows that Mexicans are happy and feel a sense of abundance in the present moment

It’s so interesting isn’t it! Especially comparing Mexican culture to the cultures of other countries. While it seems women are making strides in leadership, there’s still a gap in societal and cultural notions among the masses.
