Very good picture of Corporate Ag in USA sold on all big supermarkets. How about smaller Family farms and local markets you failed to mention. You might give some attention to the tight regulations over every restaurant that serves the public. Permits and inspections of kitchens and storage areas.

I’m a Canadian who lives full time in Mexico and I must say that my fridge is always filled to capacity with wonderful fruits and vegetables, the likes of which never graced my table when I lived up north.

A family member cannot comfortably digest breads and rolls made in North America, both from the USA and Canada but experiences no difficulty with Mexican breads. We were told this may be due to the use of non-GMO modified wheat in Mexico. Any truth to this opinion?

Thanks, this is a great article. We just moved from Hawaii to Chapala. Yes, YOU CAN TASTE THE DIFFERENCE! Our first trip here, we got in late and went straight to bed. I woke the next morning to a fruit bowl for breakfast so good that in Hawaii, we refer to as “broke da mouth!”. I had never had fruit anywhere near as delicious. Your article brings it home as to why food is SO GOOD here in Mexico. Thanks again. Aloha!
