The phones have created a whole society of mentally ill people. The phones, and the schools. If Mexicans want to avoid becoming like their mentally ill neighbors to the north, they should really limit their children’s exposure to the internet. You’ve been warned..

It will be the day it’s no longer possible to live without a cellphone. And that day seems to be getting closer and closer. I refuse to have one of those things. My husband has one, and the GPS is almost indispensable for getting around in some Mexican cities. (But I did get around fairly well as a tourist here for many years before I moved here and started getting using my own car.) I see drivers of cars and motorcycles reading texts and maybe even sending them, and that disturbs me.
Don’t get me wrong. I do have a laptop and spend a lot of time on it every day. But I actually write e-mails with sentences longer than three words!
