Yes, Sheinbaum has a great style of combining modern and native designs. We can all do that by wearing our regular modern clothes – like the universal T-Shirts and jeans and accessorize them with things like Huichol jewelry, handmade rebozos (purchased while traveling) or beautifully hand tooled leather goods such as belts and purses. There are shops in Ajijic that feature modern dresses made of manta with gorgeous embroidery as well. The tianguis is also a good place to find such goods.

After the NYT recognition to Claudia Sheinbaum as among the most stylish women in 2025… I ask, when do we -as mexicans- will recognize (beyond politics) all the good things we have? Why, as so many times happen, we are not the first to recognize ourselves and have to follow after when someone from abroad recognizes the good things in Mexico?. Why?

Couldn’t agree more with her selection. I think her classy professional integration of traditional textiles and patterns is excellent.
