Agree fully with international diversification, away from North America, as the only way from most foreign profits leaving the country. Lots of reports of billions coming in, but what are the commitments. Maybe at press conferences Marcelo Ebard gives us more information, but haven’t heard yet.
Don’t see how General Motors or Tesla will give proper weight to growth in surrounding Mexican communities, with their business ethics. We just don’t hear about that side enough, and some of us living in USA understand what those business ethics are. How will Claudia Sheinbaum’s government avoid this problem with labor and fair profit repatriation requirements? Three years is not enough time for there to be substantial investments in Mexican infrastructure, I would imagine.

Can’t Mexico make good profits from its own home grown organic chickens?

It is particularly important that Canada and Mexico stay firm and stay the course. Seeing how the US is currently governed and how the Democrats flounder, I can‘t see the US returning to their former role of workbench or technology leadership anytime soon. So the other countries need to make smart alliances elsewhere, while remaining open to those US companies with a common interest who are willing to walk the talk and put money on the table and commit beyond the next 3 years, which will most likely be very turbulent.
